About the Role
Job Title: Director of Sales and Marketing at Comfort Suites MainStay Suites
Reports To: General Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Responsible for the sales and marketing efforts of the Comfort Suites MainStay Suites hotel to maximize revenue.
Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to those outlined. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for the acquisition and retention of accounts by growing existing accounts and generating new business to a level that meets or exceeds sales forecasts.*
Executes all aspects of the sales and marketing plans to surpass revenue goals, including making outside sales calls and cold calls while maintaining relationships with current accounts.*
Builds and maintains relationships with key clients and creates and solicits new business through compliant yet innovative means.*
Oversees all other Sales and Marketing efforts to include interviewing, hiring, training, directing work, and appraising performance of associates.
Oversees the activities of staff members in order to ensure adherence to hotel policies and procedures as it pertains to sales and marketing.*
Coaches and evaluates the 2347 Management’s sales techniques to help achieve revenue targets.*
Offers guests assistance whenever possible.*
Responds to customer comments and helps resolve escalated customer relations issues.*
Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services.*
Addresses guest requests appropriately to ensure customers are satisfied with the hotel's services and accommodations.*
Represents and promotes the property in a positive manner.*
Ensures systems and procedures are in place and adhered to for guest safety and security.*
Provides backup for vacant shifts as needed and able.*
Prepares the Yearly and Quarterly Sales and Marketing Budgets as well as the Annual Sales and Marketing Plan.*
Reviews projected revenue forecasting.*
Develops sales and marketing plans as needed.*
Responsible for advertising and marketing campaigns for the hotel and ensures campaigns are within established budget.*
Collaborates with General Manager to analyze sales and marketing reports.*

Language Ability:

prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, OneNote, and Excel software.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; and/or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to work independently
• May be required to travel
• Use of personal vehicle may be required
